All About

Nim

Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet. These are the chronicles of a flip-flop wearing, peach tea sipping, photographer and disciple of Jess Christ. Loving and following Jesus is what drives everything in my life.

  1. Christian: My prayer is that my life reflects that in everything I do and that everyone I meet knows my heart is for Jesus. God saved this sinner and continues to love me even after all the crap I’ve put Him through.

  2. Wife, mama, grandma: Married to my best friend, mama to three grown, mama-in-law to a feisty redhead that keeps my son straight. Grandma to a couple grandnuggets.

  3. Aunt to just about anyone I meet. I’ve “adopted” most of the church.

  4. Photographer: I no longer offer photography services to the public and in retirement phase I primarily shoot for my family and my church.

  5. Baker: Baking is one of my love languages. From bread to macarons, I love to bake.

  6. Gamer since Pong: Tabletop, arcade, video games: pc and console, CCGs and more. Gaming is in my blood. I’m a veteran World of Warcraft player (since launch), love FPS, looter shooters, and ARPGs. Animal Crossing got me through COVID and I met my husband while playing Everquest.

  7. Cinephile: Both my husband I love everything about movies. We dive into everything from sets, wardrobe, soundtracks, scores, lighting, stunts etc. We don’t just watch movies, we embrace every part of them.

  8. Voracious Reader: I started reading at an early age and thank my Dad for all the trips to our local library, along with the books I could get from the school library. Books and movies got me through many tough times, especially high school. I love mysteries, historical fiction (WWI, WWII especially those based in the UK) and Presidential biographies. There’s nothing better than curling up with a book and reading the day away.

  9. Lives Life in the Slow Lane on Purpose: Society tells us that in order to be a success we have to grind. We have to be doing something in every moment. What a crock of malarky. Life is to be savored, enjoyed. My personal belief is that the definition of success is not how much stuff you accumulate but how you’ve lived out the two greatest commandments given by Jesus Christ:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

  10. Chiefs Kingdom: Diehard Kansas City Chiefs gal right here. In the words of the great Mitch Holthus, "You can doubt the Chiefs, you can dislike the Chiefs, you can disrespect the Chiefs, but you're gonna have to deal with the Chiefs!" I know that so many people want to hear about any other team besides the Chiefs. We’ve seen the looks when we’re rocking our jerseys and ya’ know what? We’re good with this. Like many teams, the Chiefs went through many a dark season, decades of soul sucking losses and we’re riding with this dynasty and enjoying every minute of it. One day, another team will step into the spotlight but we’ll always be part of CHIEFS KINGDOM!! GO CHIEFS!!
