Easy Breezy Sunday

The temperature today said Summer but the leaves tell a different tale. I get lost in time watching them float to the ground forming a blanket of vibrant color. A burst of gold, orange, red and browns before the gray of Winter arrives. We said farewell to Daylight Saving and welcomed natural time with open arms.

I picked up knitting needles again after a four year hiatus. My baby boy (he’s 27 btw) wants a Jayne Cobb (Firefly TV series) hat for Christmas. When my kid asks for a cult classic, you pick up knitting needles and make him a cult classic. Beanies work up in no time so I figured my hands wouldn’t suffer. I’m also stretching my hands and taking frequent breaks so that I don’t have to resort to popping a few Aleve painkillers.

When seasons change I make a habit of walking around my backyard and finding little tidbits to photograph. Finding beauty or intrigue in the smallest things changes our outlook on daily life. Considering how truly screwed up society is in this day and age, this is a much needed ritual. Especially with mid-term elections looming on the horizon.

Anyone else sick and tired of being bombarded by political commercials, mailers, online ads and radio adverts? Thankfully we don’t watch a lot of live broadcast television. We watch our favorite shows on network affiliated streaming apps. All but football. Football we have to watch live if our beloved Chiefs are televised nationally. When they aren’t, we have Red Zone.

A Chiefs win against the Titans tonight was a great end to our day. It was a tense game but somehow they got themselves together in the last quarter to tie it up and then win in overtime. And that brings this blog entry and my Sunday to a close.

Peace
