The Weekend Wrap-up

It’s a day late but I’m finally able to sit down and write on the blog again. Over the weekend I added 2FA (two factor authorization) to my Squarespace account. Everything went smoothly with the set-up and since I was logged in, I did a bit of clean-up on older posts. This needed to be done because I’ve exported and imported my blog entries a few times over the years. Once I was done, I logged out to spend time with my family.

Unfortunately, when I tried to log back in the site wouldn’t accept any of the Google Authenticator codes, I used. After troubleshooting to no avail, I submitted a ticket to Squarespace customer service and waited. After a hiccup or two, one on their part and one on mine, the issue is handled, and I have access to my site again! Yay! You never know how much you want something until you don’t have it. Isn’t that always the case?

Swim Sunday

The grandnuggets start asking about the pool in May. Every year we tell them it won’t be open until they’re finished with school. We opened it 2 weeks ago and Sunday was another family swim day. The boys got to hang out with Papa and Grandma while their parents attended a funeral. They felt the kids didn’t need to there and there’s nothing better than spending hours splashing your life away on a hot June afternoon.

The kids aren’t the only ones to have fun. It’s not a family weekend without some Magic the Gathering. Six of us got together at the nephew’s house to try out new decks and spend some quality gaming time together.

MtG has replaced our Dungeons and Dragons sessions. It’s not that we don’t love D&D, we do. MtG is just a better fit for the busy lifestyles of this family. We can all play or we can get together in small groups depending on everyone’s schedule. It’s turned out to be the perfect game for this gaming crew.

Now I’m off to wind down with a couple hours of Destiny 2. The servers were back online around 5 pm today after a pretty long maintenance. Time to check in and bang out my bounties.

Peace,

Nim
