The 3030 Challenge
In the late 90s I had the incredible prilvledge of not only hearing Joyce Meyer, but also meet her. I was so excited when the church announced she and her team would be coming to our church. When the day came, I staked out my seat in the sanctuary only to be pulled aside by a friend and co-worker with the youth outreach ministry. The daycare service offered to families attending was overwhelmed and short of volunteers. There was a level of disappointment that filled me as I prayed, “Why Lord?? You know how much I wanted to be there.” But I spent both days watching over babies and toddlers so that people could attend the meetings.
Her sermons were piped into speakers in each room, just like our Sunday services but for me it didn’t feel the same, but I sucked it up and instead praised God for the opportunity to serve Him in a different way. After the last meeting, when crews were breaking things down, those of us who spent those many hours caring for the kids were called together. It was then that Joyce Meyers met with us in a quiet, personal way. She prayed for us and thanked us for the time spent meeting the needs of families who travelled to hear her. A couple weeks later, I received a check for $115 from her ministry once again thanking us.
Don’t grumble about changes to your plans because God works on his timeline, not yours. Sometimes we feel lead to do something in a particular way, but events change. Trust God in those moments and you’ll be forever blessed.

I’ve been waking up each day and checking out the daily devotional through my Bible app, YouVersion and it’s a wonderful app and valued part of my day but I’m feeling the need to deep dive into the Word. That’s why I signed up for the 3030 Challenge through JoyceMeyer.org
I’m excited to start this and see what God teaches me through this challenge.
I’ll post an update after I complete the challenge.
Peace,
B
