Watched it.
Love it!!
Saw the fan bois bashing the movie on Twitter. Dudes, get over yourselves. Stating that the entire movie is lousy merely because Taskmaster was a different iteration entirely makes no sense to me. But hey, people have their opinions just like I have mine. I watched the movie and very much enjoyed what Marvel created. I personally don't have $200 million lying around to make a super hero movie and I highly doubt that the naysayers do either. If they did they could just make the movie themselves. But they don't so they can't. What they can do is whine and geeze if I had a nickel for all the whining going on in fandoms these days I'd be rich enough to make a movie. But enough of me complaining about the younger generations and you can keep your "Okay Boomer" responses to yourselves.
Loved this movie. Marvel delivered an action packed story that fit nicely into Marvel Universe timeline. I don't normally read reviews by movie critics and I'm not sure what made me decide to change that but this consensus from Rotten Tomatoes made me loft a brow for a split second even though it's seemingly good.
Black Widow's deeper themes are drowned out in all the action, but it remains a solidly entertaining standalone adventure that's rounded out by a stellar supporting cast

My issue with that statement revolves around "deeper themes are drowned out in all the action..." Pardon me, but it's an action movie. There needed to be action. If this were slated as a drama then I'd agree with it. Again, opinions. It's action packed, the pacing is good and holy moly, Florence Pugh!! She's amazing right? She killed this performance and I want to see more of her in the role of Black Widow. The teaser in the credits leads me to believe that's going to happen.
As for the Taskmaster reveal it's not what we hoped for but Marvel dropped enough hints that this could be the path. There's always room in the movie universe for a big, bad but sadly it's not going to be him errr, her. Watch the movie because you're a Marvel movie fan, a Black Widow fan and/or an action movie fan. If you're a Taskmaster fan, you're going to be feel as if you were punched in the gut but don't let breed negativity for the movie. It's Black Widow and Scarlett Johansson delivers a top tier performance in the role.
