Painting

I decided that I didn’t really like the haphazard sunflowers that were painted on the faux pumpkins that decorate our hearth. Yes, I’m the one that painted the sunflowers. At the time I was heavily into painting rocks and decided to use the paint pens on the pumpkins. They worked for five years but now I want a different look.

So I slathered the pumpkins with white acrylic to create a new blank canvas. My artistic endeavors are focused on painting with acrylics and water color. After a few practice posies in my sketchbook I went to town on the pumpkin.

My leaves and their placement need practice but that’s what this is all about. I read somewhere that when it comes to learning to paint, you should paint small and paint often. Granted the pumpkin is sort of a large project but I felt good about it. It’s still a work-in-progress but I’m happy with the amount I got done today.

Always learning.

Peace,

Bet
