Still Playing Animal Crossing New Horizons
Animal Crossing New Horizons released on March 20, 2020 when the world as we knew it changed thanks to COVID-19. Now nearly 15 months later, the cases in the United States have fallen to levels not seen since the beginning of it all in 2020. Vaccinations have made a huge difference and we’re thankful that we easily received our doses of the Pfizer vaccine at a NJ Mega site.
When life came to a standstill, Animal Crossing was where I went to escape the news. During the early months of the pandemic, we couldn’t pull ourselves away from cable news. By the time the elections rolled around we were through with it and haven’t returned. We get our news the way my parents got it when I was a kid. We watch local affiliates and read local papers online. We’re sick of the inflammatory headlines perpetuated by both sides here in the United States.
I reached a point in ACNH where I had built all the houses for residents and was heavily redesigning my island and decorating my house. Last month, J finally decided to buy his own Nintendo Switch and along with it, a copy of Animal Crossing. So I wiped my game data and started fresh in order to play with him.

These are just a few screenshots. It’s funny how all of my screens are captured at night. I seriously need to take a moment during the daytime cycle and grab a few images as well as head over to hubby’s island and take screens with both of our characters.
Last week, our youngest (He’s a 26 yr old full grown man) decided to buy a Switch as well. Now the entire family is connected for Splatoon and Smash Brothers. We raised gamers and we’re pretty darn proud of that.
Time to go chop wood on Nimtopia!
Peace
