Indecision Plagues Me

Indecisiveness is the one thing that drives my husband crazy as well as getting on the nerves of everyone else in my circle. There are lots of situations where I make a decision and stick with it but there are far too many other situations where I fail. Blogging fell into that category until I gave myself a stern lecture. Blogging is something I enjoy, and I don’t do it for likes, traffic or ad revenue. Over the years I’ve started to blog then stopped after telling myself that it was a frivolous expenditure. Then I lectured myself and paid for an annual subscription so that I’m compelled to blog so that I get my money’s worth.

Yes, my brain is weird, but I embrace it. Weird is as beautiful as it is frustrating.

The other item where I remain indecisive is social media. Last week I was thrilled to find out that a Facebook account would no longer be required for my VR headset. Meta announced that in August VR users will need to create a Meta account. There will be an option to disconnect the Facebook account which means I can dump Facebook. I went back just over a year ago and kept it when I got the Quest 2. So I announced that I was getting rid of FB and people could find me here on my blog.

Then my sister starts posting pictures of her newest drawing hobby: Zentangles, and she tagged me in the post writing, “This is right up your alley.” Little did she know that I’ve been making Zentangles since 2015 as well as Zentangle mandalas.

Tangles, doodles and mandalas have been a relaxing pastime for nearly a decade now.

So now I’m staying on Facebook for the foreseeable future. Of course, I say that, and she’ll stop posting cool art stuff and return to posting all flowers all the time. But that’s her thing, just like movies, books, series, cooking, baking, crafting, drawing, painting, BBQ, gaming and photography are my things. Yes, I have more things and people have asked why I don’t settle into just one hobby. My response to that question is always the same.

Why do only one thing?

Trust me, I want to dive into so many things because they pique my interest: 3D printing, laser engraving, stained glass, making my own knives and shit. Yes, I have watched every episode of Forged in Fire. There are tons of things I want to do but I’ve learned to reign in my love of new thing. No one will ever leave this world regretting all the cool shit they made and the sheer enjoyment they got from making it.

By the way, I changed the name and primary domain for the blog.

Indecisiveness is an evil wench. and I’m still a work in progress.

Peace
