Making Wreaths Again

It's been over a year since I made a cardstock flower wreath and it was time to dive back in. My craft supply stash is full of cardstock that's letter size (8.5" x 11") and I want to use it up before buying new 12x12 packs. Even though the seasons are changing I wanted to make a wreath with these colors and I love, love, love how it looks. Multiple flower shapes and sizes on a metal wreath ring creates a perfect wreath to hang on the door or any wall in the home. And I just had to hit it with some glitter enhanced sealer spray because why not? Everyone can use a bit of sparkle in their lives.

I made this using a 14-inch wire wreath form that I ordered from Amazon. Normally I'd buy them from Dollar Tree in town, but hubs gave me Amazon gift cards to spend on crafts and Christmas gift-making supplies. They're one of the little perks/rewards he gets from work and who doesn't love free stuff?

Christmas is my favorite season but my daughter-in-law loves to decorate for Halloween. In fact she's considering leaving the Halloween décor up year round. There are several projects in the works for her this year starting with a little 10-inch x 10-inch canvas that I'm painting. I used an SVG file I got from Silhouette Design Store and cut a stencil with Oracal 651 vinyl. It's not the ideal thing but I made it work. So far I haven't found any vinyl that sticks to painted canvas well enough to make a crisp stencil. It's time I gave up on using canvas and stick with wood and ceramic tiles. Lesson learned.

Since I still have a banker's box filled with the letter size cardstock, I'm going to just cut flowers in all the colors and store them. This way I can just pull the flower type and color that I need when inspiration for wreaths hits me.

It's a plan. I've got a plan.

Craft on and peace,

B
