Murder at Irish Christmas - An Irish Village Mystery Book 6

I’m currently reading the 6th book, Murder at an Irish Christmas, in the Carlene O’Connor cozy mystery series An Irish Village Mystery. This series is one of my favorites since I discovered the world of cozy mysteries. With half a book to go, I’m not sure why I don’t feel invested in it.

I’ll update this post once I complete the book and I’m hopeful that I fall in love with it like I did with the first five books.

Stay tuned…

Update: I finished the book but it is definitely not my favorite in the series. Perhaps it didn’t click for me because it was set outside of the village of Killbane. But I loved book 6, Murder in an Irish Cottage and it was outside of the village too! For whatever reason, I just didn’t love this book. The additional characters felt flat and uninteresting. The plot too felt uninspired. Reading this one felt like trudging through mud and molasses, uphill, during winter.

Let’s hope that the next books in the series draw me back in.

This gets a 3.5/5
