State of the Gaming

Destiny 2's Season 21 dropped on Tuesday, May 23rd and we're just starting to dive into it. Yes, yes, I know I had issues with Season 20 and the Lightfall expansion in general, but I still love the game. There aren't enough co-op PvE looter shooters in the gaming world. Borderlands is the other that I can think of off the top of my head. Destiny 2 is the one shooter we play together and enjoy together. We vowed we wouldn't purchase future expansions for Destiny 2, then this happened...

I was devastated when Cayde 6 was killed in the game. There was ugly crying involved. When this dropped I lost my mind. Happy dancing occurred and we completely forgot that we weren't going to buy another expansion.

We're in Bungie, we're in.

Now for Season 21, Season of the Deep. I'm already having more fun than I did in season 20. Salvage runs are a blast. A lot of pew pew pew with easy mechanics. As a 61 year old player, I think they're a bit too easy. There's a balance that needs to be achieved when designing the arenas. You want them to be easy enough so that players aren't slamming their heads against walls in order to finish weekly challenges. But, these just feel TOO easy.

We're enjoying them though and I don't get bored with repetitive runs like my husband. He burns out too quickly with these. I can run them over and over all day, every day. He's out after three runs. So I spend the rest of my time running with 5 "randos". Oh and check out the other new addition to the Season of the Deep.

FISHING!!!

If there's fishing in the game with our without achievements, I'm in. Fishing in Destiny 2 definitely has achievements. We've been gathering bait through events and picking up resources so that we have over 200 when we fish. It maximizes the time we spend instead of having to repeatedly run back and forth with a small amount of bait.

We've also been working on getting all the catalysts for the Vexcaliber Glaive. Bungie seems to be shoving glaives at us every chance they get. Neither Nykonis or I use them regularly but it's a completion thing. We need to complete the tasks and gather all the things. Welcome to gaming life.

On that note, I'm off to do some more fishing and pew-pewing in the game before calling it a night.
