State of the Game - March
Two games dominated our gaming time: Guild Wars 2 and It Takes Two.
Nykonis a.k.a Nyk, my husband was able to pick up It Takes Two for $10 during the Steam Spring Sale! The game was released March 26, 2021 and we both remember watching BogOtter and his wife, Azzarriia (their screen names of course) and loved it. We were both excited to see it on sale and hopped right into gameplay that evening.
This game is gorgeous and the creators are so imaginative! We were constantly wowed by each new area/zone as we moved through the story. Speaking of the story. It's heartwarming and centers around Mae, Cody and their daughter Rose. Mae and Cody have drifted apart, argue all the time and have decided it's time to divorce. Rose, their daughter is sad and when you mix her tears with a rather annoying book the result is a wood doll version of her parents. Rose sees her parents napping and engrossed in work, so she doesn't bother them. But their consciousness' are stuck in doll form. They have to come together and repair the relationship in order to get back to their daughter and their human bodies.
Our first recording isn't the greatest because we noticed static after the fact. We're not currently using OBS or any other program but perhaps we will for future games. We literally set my Blue Yeti between us and record gameplay using the nVidia's ShadowPlay. It's also how I capture screenshots because, well... Windows 11. Need I say more?
It Takes Two is a fun, laughed filled game with a heartwarming story that we thoroughly enjoyed. Add it to your Watchlist on Steam and grab it when it goes on sale!
GG all!
