State of the Gaming
Void Elf Death Knight - Frost spec
We've been playing a lot of World of Warcraft since August 2019. After taking a break when the raiding guild we were part of collapsed our plan was to play just until Borderlands 3 released on September 13, 2019. And we played Borderlands 3 when it launched. We played for three days before returning to WoW: Battle for Azeroth. That itch for an MMO just never goes away. The genre is our first love.
We've been playing steadily since and got our Borderlands 3 characters to max level while beating the game, twice. Still WoW draws us in. In 2018 we decided to not buy new MMOs. Over the years we've purchased more games than we'd care to remember. Many have a plethora of good memories for both of us. Others let us down miserably. WoW is home for us and we enjoy playing it together.
We're unsure which classes we'll play at the start of the new expansion, Shadowlands which should release later this year. And with the new leveling system coming with the expansion, we're hard pressed to start new characters. Why grind 120 levels when the "level crunch" coming in Shadowlands means grinding 60 levels. At the moment we have three max level characters each on Alliance-Dalaran. There's plenty to keep us occupied until the next expansion because we chase achievements, transmogs and mounts. We're competitive in a good way. It's part of why we work so well together in-game and in life.
Our only issue at this point is finding a solid guild. With the current state of the game - the slowdown of one expansion before the drop of a new expansion - has made it difficult. The guilds we've looked into aren't active and others are looking for specific classes and specs to fill their raid teams. But we'll soldier on and hope to find a good guild before starting Shadowlands this Fall.
